1985 Mongoose Californian bmx bike

I acquired this one without the wheel set and pads about 15 years ago Dropouts are in excellent condition One very small hairline crack at the keyhole that has not gotten any worse in all the years I’ve been riding it The bars are crimped and pretty much locked in a forward position Never slipped or bothered me as a taller rider [6’2″] Replaced the inner brake cable and added Kool Stop pads. Pro Class wheels were in very bad shape before I saved them Spokes were rusted half way through and had grooves in the rear side walls from brake pad posts cutting in Polished everything out and relaced them with NOS plated spokes from the 80’s SR hubs dated 84 Added Shimano 333 freewheel NOS staggered Kenda gumwalls that would have been common replacement BITD. Pad set was bought NOS from a reputable seller long before the repops and see no signs they are not authentic. Every thing else is original down to the Mongoose stamped hardware and grips Hunt Wilde bar ends were add sometime long ago before I got it. Decals are a bit hazy showing their age Stars are mostly gone on the forks Slight peppering here and there but nothing notice able from a few feet. +13072985372
