UPS Engineer
An excellent opportunity has become avaialble for an experienced UPS Engineer based from London to join a well-established and growing UPS company. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and emergency repairs of UPS and related power protection equipment across Mainland UK. You will be required to establish a good rapport with both long-standing customers, and your teammates across all departments. Our client offers a very attractive salary (£32-42k), company vehicle, annual on-call allowance up to 32 days paid holiday (including BH), laptop, tools, iPhone, iPad plus much more! The Role: The job requires all UPS engineers to work in a safe manner in accordance with the company safety policy using good working practice and current codes of practice and legislation. You will also be expected to conduct yourself in a professional manner whilst at work and on call. A CSCS card and a current DBS certificate if not up to date will be required. Duties and responsibilities include: Installation & field repair of a wide range of UPS & power protection products. Maintenance & commissioning of a wide range of UPS & power protection products. Battery replacements for a wide range of UPS & power protection products. The written, verbal and telephone support of all internal and external customers. Responsible for communicating to engineering manager the status of all jobs (open/closed). The accurate completion of all paperwork and administration documents should be uploaded to the company portal at the end of each day. Participation in the on-call rota after completion of a probationary period would be required. Overtime is always available for work at weekends & evenings. Ensure that all company assets (vehicle, tools, IT equipment) are well maintained. Assist the Field Service team in the day-to-day operation of the department. Provide sales and/or service leads to the business Ensure that all ISO 9001:2000 ISO 45001 & ISO 14001:2000 processes are followed. Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Experience (minimum of 3 years) of working in the technical field of UPS equipment essential. Knowledge of a wide range of different UPS makes models a distinct advantage. Factory UPS Training an advantage. Our client will put you through various manufacturers training courses as and when available. Electrical qualifications/experience a significant advantage (18th edition IEE Regulations, Test & Inspection) Effective organisational skills with an ability to work under pressure. Computer Literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Clean & valid driving license. ( maximum 3 points) Additional Information: Significant opportunities for overtime, with out of hours and weekend work. Participation in the 24/7 weekly on call rota. Occasionally required to stay away from home and/or travel long distances. Occasional heavy lifting required (25-30 kg.) Company uniform provided.
